Dear Mount Vernon High School Community, 

On behalf of the Mount Vernon High School Parent Teacher Student Association (MVHS PTSA), it is our pleasure to welcome you to the new school year! The PTSA works closely with our MVHS administrators, teachers, and staff to support our school, and provide programs or events that directly impact our students. 

Because the PTSA is a vital part of the school community, who advocates for all MVHS students, families, & teachers, we encourage each of you to find ways to connect and contribute to our school. To do this, we encourage you to: 

  • Join the PTSA.
  • Stay Informed. Plan to attend PTSA meetings, sign-up for MVHS News You Choose, check our PTSA Announcements on PTBoard,  and follow us on Facebook or Twitter. 
  • Volunteer.  There are many ways parents, students, individuals, and community members can get involved at MVHS. Your involvement will enhance your experience at MVHS, and help you stay connected. 
  • Invest in Our Kids! Your membership and donation dollars provide items and opportunities for MVHS that the FCPS budget does not. We encourage you to join us! We would also like to challenge you to ask a local business to become a PTSA Business Sponsor, or see if your company offers Corporate Matching. Your generous donations and sponsorships can greatly impact our efforts to improve and enrich our school. 
  • Provide Feedback. Are there changes you'd like to see at MVHS? How can the PTSA better serve you? We welcome your feedback, comments, and questions! Please reach out at: ptsamountvernonhs@gmail.com

We are very excited to share a NEW way of keeping you informed with information within the Mount Vernon HS PTSA community!  We're now using PTBoard as our way of communicating to you, and as a way to sign up online to become a MVHS PTSA member. 

You will need an account to volunteer, check out and pay, and to become a MVHS PTSA member. 

It's very easy to sign up:

  • Click “Sign Up” in the top right corner and you will be prompted to create an account within PTBoard. 
  • Enter school code 8H8WNF hit Join.
  • After signing in, go to your name (upper right hand corner) and click on “My Profile” and enter your contact information including adding your student(s).
  • Browse around on the new site, purchase membership, make a donation or sign-up to get involved with a volunteer activity!

If you DO NOT wish to become a PTSA member online, you can print, complete, and mail your payment and membership form to:
